48 Minutes

The power of 48 minutes – from Don Crowther

Essentially the idea is that if you work for 48 minutes uninterruptedly, and then rest for the next 12 minutes before repeating the cycle, you gain much more productivity.

I quote:

Don reports that this technique repeated four times a day allowed him to write a 200 page book in just two weeks. The ability to focus on one task for 48 minutes straight was the key.

Now, that’s pretty impressive. I’m not sure if it’s just marketing hype that makes it 48 minutes (why not 45 minutes, for example?), but it seems to work. Psychosomatic effect or otherwise, my productivity seems to be improving. Well, always worth a try, I say.
