Effort
I hate it when people don’t acknowledge our efforts. Some people come to me and say, “Hey, there’s no point in training. Other schools will get the medals and you’ll have worked for nothing anyway.” Or still others say to me, “Your seniors will shoot and you won’t get a chance anyway.”
It is seriously discouraging to hear it, because I don’t like hearing that I’ve slogged my ass off for nothing. I like to think that hard work will one day be rewarded. The college pistol team may be the underdogs going into the Nationals, but we will win, if we work hard enough. At least, that’s what I like to think.
